Conservation Groups
WCBC Supports These Groups:
Pennsylvania Society for Ornithology
The Pennsylvania Society for Ornithology is a group of birders from across the commonwealth devoted to birding and wild bird conservation. Our members range from neophyte birders to professional ornithologists. All are welcome!
The Nature Conservancy
The Nature Conservancy is the leading conservation organization working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people.
Hawk Mountain Sanctuary
The mission of Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Association is to conserve birds of prey worldwide by providing leadership in raptor conservation science and education, and by maintaining Hawk Mountain Sanctuary as a model observation, research and education facility.
Natural Lands
The Natural Lands organization (Formerly Natural Lands Trust) is a non-profit land conservation organization dedicated to protecting the forests, fields, streams, and wetlands that are essential to the sustainability of life in eastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey. We apply a comprehensive approach to conservation that includes permanently protecting natural areas, providing leadership in natural resource management, and creating opportunities for people to connect to and learn from nature.
Tri-State Bird Rescue
The mission of Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research is to achieve excellence in the rehabilitation of injured, orphaned, and oiled native wild birds, with the goal of returning healthy birds to their natural environment. We do this through compassionate care, humane research, and education.
Frontiers in Ornithology
The primary mission of this event is to focus on ornithology, conservation science and related academic pursuits. The symposium does not focus on birding, bird identification techniques, or listing birds, but instead on cutting-edge technologies being used in avian research and study, careers in ornithology, and how to pursue that focus in higher education, vocationally, or avocationally. Our goal is to educate and inspire youth to take their passion for birds to a higher level.
Brandywine Conservancy
The Brandywine Conservancy is committed to the belief that preservation and wise use of natural and cultural resources provides health, education, beauty, and increased quality of life for individuals and communities. The Conservancy assures present and future generations of open space, dependable water supplies, historical sites, and important works of American art, and also provides an understanding of the meaning and potential of these things, both separately and in relation to each other. The Conservancy preserves, protects, interprets, utilizes and displays these resources through its Brandywine River Museum and Environmental Management Center.
